Fendog came round tonight to help bottle the Oatmeal Stout. After my last two nightmare bottling sessions, I was glad of the help. It is so much easier with two, plus I managed to borrow the Geek’s countertop cappper so I had none of the problems I had using the rubbish ones that Fendog left me with when he deserted me. Our own countertop capper is still at Fendog Farm – I must remind him to bring it back when goes for Christmas.
Speaking of Christmas, I had hoped to get the stout bottled in time for us to do another brew done for Christmas (with half of the carboys still at Fendog Farm, we can only do one brew at a time these days). Unfortunately Fendog, ever the social butterfly, is in high demand since moving backto Oxford so we couldn’t get together til tonoght. No chance of another brew being ready for Christmas. In fact, I’m a bit worried the stout might not quite be ready by then – it might need a little longer to condition. Dang it. Still, there’s plenty of Audicty of Hops left for the Festive period.
