Until I get the keg system and counter-pressure bottler that I’ll been praying for (How long, O Lord!) all the homebrew I give away is bottle-conditioned which most people are not used it. I’m sure any of you that are brewers are as sick as I am of having to explain to people how to store and pour such beer. Also, its not always possible if you take some to a party for example or pass them on through a friend or partner. Its depressing when you see someone slugging a homebrew from the bottle and complaining it tastes yeasty! So I’ve been looking for a good set of instructions that I can [put on a label so stick to the bottles. A little time Googling yielded the following pictorial instructions:
Not sure if I will go with one of those or just a bit of text, short and sweet, along the lines of:
This beer is bottle-conditioned:
- Store upright (may need time to settle if disturbed)
- Pour into a glass in one smooth motion leaving the sediment in the bottle
- Drink the beer
- Return the empty bottle to be refilled!
Are these the main things to say?
